Effects of Acupuncture with a Combination of GV20 and EX-HN1 Acupoints on CO<sub>2</sub> Reactivity in the Anterior and Middle Cerebral Arteries during Hypercapnia in Normal Subjects: A Randomized Crossover Trial

Objectives: To investigate the effects of acupuncture at GV20 and EX-HN1 on cerebral blood flow (CBF) velocity cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR) in middle arteries (MCA) anterior (ACA) to compare GV20.Methods: The study was a randomized, crossover trial that included 10 healthy men aged 20 29 years who underwent treatment four times with washout period one week. CBF CVR were measured by transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD) both MCAs first second visits, ACAs third fourth visits. Participants randomly assigned two groups (A B) before Group A received phases intervention single point combination acupoints. B same interventions, but reverse order.Results: increase CO<sub>2</sub> significantly higher for acupoints than acupoint (Right: 136 178, p=0.017; Left: 127 191, p=0.017) 133 158, p=0.013; 122 168, p=0.025). No significant change noted corrected PETCO<sub>2</sub> 40 mmHg, pressure, or heart rate.Conclusions: findings suggest improvement MCA ACA after increases when is also performed EX-HN1. These results clinically support combined use treat disorders circulation.
